Earth day is defined as an annual event, celebrated on April 22, on which day events worldwide are held to demonstrate support for environmental protection according to Wikipedia. It was first celebrated in 1970, and is now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network, and celebrated in more than 193 countries each year.

I think it is a great to have a day set aside to honor our planet and make sure it is being cared for by everyone. But why just have a day? We have done our part with taking care of the earth.

First and foremost by recycling. Not only do we use recycled materials in our projects but we also recycle our aluminum cans and plastic water bottles. I have tried to look for ways to reduce our environmental impact. You think recycling items might be hard work but just look at the projects that we created using recycled items.

These are just a few projects that we have done. Not only is recycling great for the environment but it will also save you money. And isn’t saving money what we all want. 🙂

I know a lot of you are probably thinking, “I ain’t got time for that!” and believe it is too hard to recycle but in fact if you just follow the simple tips found here, you can make your house green in no time. And then you too can say that every day is Earth day at your house. After all, what we do today can affect generations to come. It is never too late to start going green.

  1. You’re right – environmentalism should be an everyday affair, not just for one day a year. Great post! Congrats on greening!
