A little while ago, I tried a project that I thought would turn out beautiful but instead was an epic fail. Ever have that happen to you?? For me it happens quite often to many times to count unfortunately. But you know me I am never one to throw away anything so instead of tossing what I messed up I kept it in hopes that the epic fail would turn into something beautiful and that day has come.

First let me give you the backstory. I always hated the white canvas lampshade in my bedroom. One I came up with the brilliant idea to paint it and then do a stencil on it. It was a great idea right but unfortunately that idea did not work so well and I ended up with a hot mess LOL. I searched for ways to improve that lampshade but could not find just the right thing to do.

Then along came my partnership with Wholeport. Wholeport  was the company I partnered with to redo the cushions on my patio chairs on my front porch. I am able to select what samples I want to receive in month in exchange for showcasing how I use those samples in a craft. I ordered some beautiful lace fabric that has floral roses on it. As soon as I saw it I knew that was going to make one beautiful lampshade.

Basically I covered the lampshade with the fabric. I used hot glue to secure the fabric on the top, middle and the bottom of the lamp shade. I made sure to pull the fabric tight so there were no gaps between the fabric and the lampshade. This creation took me all of about 10 minutes to finish. This includes the time it took for me to heat up the hot glue. Here is a picture of the finished product.
