Make DIY Work For You With RYOBI

It is no secret that our backyard is a work in progress. We keep finding more and more projects that need to be done. Right now we are in the process of using shingles that we got for free as siding for the new storage building that my husband built from spare pieces of wood.

DIY Summer

We are also putting up a pallet privacy fence as we are just so darn tired of being barked at in our yard. I mean our dogs don’t bark at our next door neighbor so why it is that it is okay for theirs to bark when we are nowhere near their yard. After all, it is summer, and we want to be able to enjoy outdoors. The pallet fence is about half way was done and as well as the shingle siding but we still have dreams of doing more.

DIY, Party, Summer

One of the dreams is to extend the pallet deck that my husband created several years back and to make another patio near our bigger dog, Tutu, complete with fire pit. We have the furniture for it already we just need to find the time actually to do these things.  I have always dreamed of being able to show movies in our backyard and having a dedicated place for bonfire fires. I think we so would spend more time outdoors if we did.

Do you have big dreams about your yard as well? These guys in this video did.

Right now RYOBI tools is hosting a contest for a chance to win $1000 in RYOBI Tools. To enter, you have to build a party station and submit pictures of it to win the $1,000.  What project would you tackle if you had a whole day with Construction Manager on Food Network’s Restaurant Impossible, Tom Bury? I know if I had him at my beck and call our backyard would be finished in no time.

So head over and enter here. And don’t forget to tell me what big dreams you have for your yard.

  1. It looks like you are having fun creating your backyard and using your Ryobi. I presently don’t have a backyard so I don’t have to worry about it. Just my little balcony garden of herbs. It is good co-hosting with you Melissa,

  3. The projects around here seem endless too! We are in the middle of building three built-in cabinets inside the house. Greatly needed storage projects…but the outside has a long list as well. Good luck with your outdoor projects. Love the video (that party cart is so cool). Thanks for being an awesome co-host at the #HomeMattersParty – have a great Father’s Day weekend! 🙂
