Lightening up: Finding Joy in Everyday Moments
Finding joy in everyday moments may seem complicated, but it is possible. Finding joy in the little things can make a big difference in your happiness. It is essential to take time each day to appreciate the good things in your life, no matter how small. Here are some things that helped me by finding more joy in everyday moments.
My Hubby
My husband, Raul, is the unsung hero of our family. He was the one who made all my ideas for the blog cabin come true. He would work his regular job and then come home to put in a few more hours to get it just the way I wanted. His birthday was Friday, and he took the day off from work, which made me so happy. He is not one to sit and rest. I am truly blessed to be doing life with him.
Getting My Hair Done
There is just something about someone else washing your hair that is so relaxing. As a part of my self-care routine, I schedule a hair appointment once every 4 weeks. Not only does it feel good to get a reset, but I can also catch up with Lisa, who is my hairstylist and a really good friend.
Bubble Bath
Yes, I use a baby product for my bubble bath. Baby Magic Calming Baby Bath is my go-to and is on my must-have list. You see, my skin gets irritated easily, and this is the only product I have found besides Epsom salts that calms the itchiness and irritation. So when I get a chance to use it and host a giveaway for it, I jump at it. ( see the entry form at the bottom of this post.)
Gently cleanse and moisturize your delicate skin and trusted by parents for over 70 years, Baby Magic has everyday essentials parents need to keep skin smooth and hydrated during the cold holiday season. They are dermatologist-recommended, hypoallergenic, and free of sulfates, dyes, parabens, and phthalates. Affordably priced at Walmart and available online.
Local Farmer – Deans Farm Market
We have been getting our Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for the past two years from Deans Farm Market. And we have thoroughly enjoyed them. This year was no different. We got our turkey day dinner from there, which was so delicious. I love supporting local farmers. Deans Farmer Market is located in Wilson, which is just a hop, skip and jump from our house. They not only do dinners but also have a pumpkin and strawberry patch and mobile field trips that introduce local school children to the joys of agriculture.
I was first introduced to Deans when Maddie, my oldest daughter, was in kindergarten, and she had a field trip there. So you can say we have been supporting them for a long time.
Bedroom Redo
I teased you last week with the redo, so here is what the whole room looks like. I will work on a separate post detailing how I made this bedroom dream come true. And I will also share what inspired me for this room. But until then, you will have to make do with the picture.
In conclusion, it is important to find joy in everyday moments. Life can be difficult and stressful, but it can make all the difference if we take the time to appreciate the good moments. We should savor the happy moments and cherish them. The next time you have a moment of happiness, take a step back and enjoy it. Don’t let life pass you by without taking the time to appreciate the good moments.
