Giving New Life to Old Items

Last week I told you about my trip to Goodwill. You can read about it here. I have already shared with the you the smaller projects, the pillows, and  the chalkboards. Now here is the big project the chair makeover.

It does not look like much does it. But if there is one thing that I have learned from my adventures you can always make things look like new without spending  a lot of money. I paid $15.00 for the chair and with a little work it is the perfect chair for the desk in my corner of the bedroom.

I first sanded the chair done and took off the cushion. That was easy because you can just unscrew it . I then cover the fabric with a different kind of fabric that I had on hand. I wanted something just a little funky and that would make the chair look inviting to me. Calling me to work LOL

I then took the chair outside and spray painted it black.

Here is what it looked like after it was painted and before the seat was added back on.

Covering the seat was an easy job. A couple  of years ago I invested in a small staple gun that I use for all my recovering projects. Basically I just put the fabric over the top and stapled it on the bottom.

Here is what the finish project looks like

What do you think?? It just pops against my purple curtains boy do you have a story about those?? Another frugal tip for another day.
