So I have told y’all I’ve been working with a nutritionist. It has helped me so much. Shannon is awesome and I look forward to my sessions with her. In one of my sessions, I was beating myself up about not making healthy choices as far as food goes. I work really hard to lose 30 lb only to see them slowly but surely creep back on. I will admit I was beating myself up pretty bad negative self-talk always has a way to creep back in my head. Shannon talked me down from the negative mountain. Not only did she listen to me but she also helped me to create a list of snacks and lunch ideas so even when I have to grab and go I still have healthy options. This led me to create a snack station in the Blog Cabin for those times where I need a little push. Yeah, beer for the snack station came to me when I found some containers when we were cleaning out the Barnes on our property. They were the perfect containers to hold my snacks. I added my tea kettle and some cups along with the refrigerator I have in my office. I’m all set.

Working with Shannon I was able to come up with a list of things to have on hand for when hunger hits. So I know you’re probably wondering if you are even asking yourself why she isn’t sharing it don’t worry here is a list.

  •  Individual bags of popcorn I eat the white cheddar popcorn either the Skinny Pop or Smartfood brand. I found the small bags I’m able to practice portion control and I could stop myself after one small bag but if I get a big bag I can’t stop.

  •  Nuts (pocket nuts) mixed nuts are a great source of protein and I have noticed I feel so much better after I get protein in my system. Plus these pockets, these packets are the perfect size to throw in my bag and perfect for a road trip.
  •  Pepperoni and cheese. I’m addicted to Babybel cheese
  •  Lily’s Chocolate Chips- These are sugar-free and so good. I sometimes throw these in the back of popcorn with a net so I can have something sweet.
  •  Yogurt – The Two Good kinds. I can put a few in the refrigerant and it will get me through the week. I also throw in Lily’s chocolate chips in these as well.
  •  Rice Cakes. Which is one thing I love but often forget about.
  •  Salads pre-made less fuss for me and I can throw a few in the refrigerator in my office and be set.
  • And she also gave me a new option bell peppers with cream cheese so good.

I also add my ketones to my water that way I can get my daily water intake in.

Shannon taught me that I need to be more intentional with my grocery shopping. And then I need to give myself grace and allow for flexibility in not only what I eat but also in my life. And that it’s okay to choose foods of convenience every once in a while but to do it in moderation. I’m happy and I now have a snack station in the Blog Cabin that will not only feed my mind as well as my soul.

Next time I’m going to write about clearing out the barns I mentioned that when I mentioned the containers that I found for my snack station.
