Diamonds are A Girl’s Best Friend or Are They?
A few years ago, well maybe more than a few years ago, Marilyn Monroe sang about Diamonds being a girl’s best friend?
And for some, they are especially if they are graded by a GSI international gemological laboratory. But that got me thinking about other things that girls call their best friends so I came up with a list of my own.
- Furbabies- I know they say that dog is a man’s best friend, but I will go even further and say you haven’t met a crazy cat or dog mom. Allie, our spoiled rotten Shih Tzu spends a lot of time in the “Blog Cabin” with me so yea read into that whatever you want.
- The Bible- I don’t know what I would do without my daily Bible and devotional time. It is the first thing I do when I step into the “Blog Cabin” before I turn on the computer to work. Time with my Bible, and with God is really important to me.
- Water- Seriously, I have switched to no sodas at all and have been chugging water nonstop. Because well let’s face it, I do live in North Carolina and it gets pretty dang hot and humid here.
- Flowers- I love how getting a fresh bouquet of flowers can just brighten up my day. I always look forward to my weekly trips to Odom Farming Company to get the flowers for the “Chats from the Blog Cabin” set.
- The Kitchen- I know what you are thinking what?? But ever since I started the Keto plan I have really enjoyed spending time in the kitchen creating new meals and I feel so much better because I am not eating junk like I was before.
- The Phone- Because y’all let’s face it – I bet you can’t look at your phone right now and see a picture that you took of something you encountered today. Heck, it might even be a selfie. Don’t lie you know you take about 1000 selfies to get the right picture. I know most of the time I do. That’s right I admit.
- The Car- I know that guys are supposed to be the only ones crazy about cars but since my husband bought me my Chevy Malibu last year, I am in love. I was always the one who said I would never drive a car- give me an SUV any day. But you know what folks I love my car!!! I mean I really love my car.
- Farmers- Yes I said, farmers. Because y’all we all have to eat and where do you think your food comes from?
- And I am going to add one more just for me – Cows- Yep that’s right a cow can be a girl’s best friend. I have a dream of one day owning a farm with a couple of farm animals. But until then I have to be content with visiting Maybelline, the sweetest cow, and getting some cow love from her.
