Having Fun with My Hair Extensions
I was provided free hair extensions in exchange for this post.
Being a girl can be so much fun. As a girl/ woman, there are so many things we can do to change our look. Makeup can make us go from plain Jane to cover girl ready. And don’t get me started on the hair. With so many wigs and hair extensions products on the market, women can change their look just by shopping online for makeup, hair, and clothes.
I recently had the opportunity to try some hair extensions out for myself. Having long hair wasn’t something that is new for me. When my girls were younger, my hair was long, but living in North Carolina having long hair in the summer is a true form of torture.
But being able to take my hair out whenever I wanted was amazing. I was able to change my hair every couple of weeks or so putting my hair extensions in.
I first tried them out a few days before Lex’s, my future son-in-law, graduation from college. By the end of graduation day and before we made the 2 1/2 hour trip home, my extensions were out and in a bag safely tucked away in the Acadia. I just wasn’t used to having hair that long again.
I will admit that I was a little apprehensive about having them and when I put them in myself. Folks, I ain’t gonna lie, I looked like Billy Ray Cyrus- The Achy Breaky Heart decade. I am so lucky that I have wonderful hairdresser and friend in Lisa, who agreed to help me with my dilemma. No more Achy Breaky Heart for me.
As I was sitting in Lisa’s chair, while I went through the whole process of getting my hair touched up and the extensions put in, we caught up with each other. Lisa is one of those people who you can’t help but feel good around.
I can honestly say that we only had a problem with one extension that didn’t want to stay in, which we found out later the clip wasn’t right, and I had to replace it. And the extensions felt like silk; you couldn’t even tell that I had them in.
I wanted to show you the before and after pictures.

After
Now side by side.
Extensions are something I would try again, but I have learned if I want a good night sleep- I have to figure out a better way to sleep with them in. Do you have any suggestions?
So what do you think of my transformation? Honestly, it has made me want to grow out my hair again. It just made my face look thinner and thin is good.
