Eating Out in Fayetteville North Carolina

I love traveling to new cities and experiencing new things. One of my favorite things to do try local restaurants. So today I thought I would share my take on eating out in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Some of these places still have restrictions due to Covid19 so be patient.

So I have told you about my trip to Fayetteville for the very first Monday Motivation meeting, but what I didn’t tell you about in the post was the food. We had amazing food catered by Dorothy’s 2 Catering. It was so yummy. I mean just look at this menu

  • Dorothy’s Famous Quiche
  • Shrimp and Grits
  • Pancake Skewers w/ Strawberries and Blueberries
  • Sweet Potato Biscuit with Spicy Honey, Bacon, and Arugula
  • Savory Stuffed Croissants
  • Spinach and Mushroom Bruschetta
  • Yogurt Parfait Bar

I don’t know if it was because I was so hungry after getting on the road early or the food was just that good, but it was probably the best food I had tasted in a while. In fact, every time I travel to Fayetteville, the food is one of the best highlights of the trip.

Back in Spring, when Gracie and I did the Mother-Daughter Spring Break trip, we had some really yummy food at Reyhan’s.

Their Pita Bread is to die for. And I actually found something that Gracie was willing to try and actually liked.

And of course, on this trip, we fell in love with Winterbloom tea. The vibe there is something else and they just recently started adding spiked drinks to their menu.

Then later when Gracie and I ventured back to Fayetteville to pick up our finished pottery from Greg’s Pottery we met up with my friend Jenny from the Fayetteville CVB we tried Circa 1800.

Both Gracie and I had their chicken salad. And it was good but I was totally drooling over Jenny’s salad.

This was the trip that Gracie and I were introduced to Fried Green Tomatoes. ( Can you believe that this was the first time we had tried them? I know right?)

Then back in December, I went back to the city I have grown to love to attend an Instagram class taught by my friends Tiffany from The Mrs. Tee and Katlin from McFadden Studios. This time Emily was along for the ride.

I, of course, had to introduce Emily to WinterBloom tea, which has undergone a few changes. This was the first time I had been back since they have become a membership club. You can now get your tea spiked. After our tea ( and now I didn’t get it spiked), we walked up and down Hay Street trying to find something to eat. We happened upon Pierros Italian Restaurant.

I had the eggplant parm which is always a must for me to try at an Italian restaurant, I go to. It was totally out of this world. I can’t wait to go back for another visit.

Then this led me to my last visit for the morning motivation meeting. Sure we had brunch, but I couldn’t pass up the chance to grab lunch with my friend Jenny from the CVB. I know if I come into Fayetteville and I don’t stop to see her she is going to be upset with me. This time we discussed where to go to eat. We decided to try a restaurant that my friend Courtney told me about. Pharaoh’s Legacy lived up to its name. After eating there I left full and with some leftovers for later. Both Jenny and I got salads. Jenny commented that this was probably the first time she had to take part of a salad home, it was that big. I mean just look at our plates.

Jenny is such a foodie she always introduces me to the best food and gets me to try new things. This time was no different. She got me to try stuffed grape leaves.

They are certainly an acquired taste but they were good. And of course, I couldn’t leave Fayetteville without bringing something home for my girl who has classes that day. I got her an order of Balavaka to go. But guess who ended up eating it? If you guessed me you would be right! Sadly, this particular trip did not include a trip to Winterbloom Tea as it was already late in the day. But I have another trip planned for the end of this month so I know that it will be one of the first places I stop.

When you are in Fayetteville, you also need to go check out Dirt Bag Ales Brewery. You can either get a flight of homebrew, a glass of sangria, or a few pints of ale.

Their farmer’s market is opening soon. But they also have a restaurant onsite called Napkins which catered our lunch for us the day I visited back in the summer. It was so delicious. I mean just look at it.

So tell me what kind of restaurants are you drawn to when you are traveling? Do you stick with chain restaurants or do you try to sample the local fare? I used to be strictly chain restaurants, but then I discovered local restaurants and quickly fell in love.
