Celebrate National Rum Month with Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen
I was provided a gift card in exchange for helping to promote this event. The following content is intended for readers who are 21 or older.
My family and I often travel out of town for events, games and etc. It seems like we are always on the go that we never have enough time to sit down and eat as a family. We are always missing one, as Maddie is in her senior year of college and lives on her own. But we decided that before travel ball season officially started we would go to a restaurant and sit down and eat as a family.
I had never heard of Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen before but when I was presented with the opportunity to go, I jumped at the chance. Remember this year it is all about trying new places and things. And Cheddar’s is definitely an experience I would want to relive.
I won’t lie to you , I did check out the menu online and kind of had an idea of what to order. When we arrived at the restaurant I was surprised with how quickly we were seated as the parking lot was packed. I had expected to wait. Once we were seated, Taylor, our waiter came by to take our orders. Of course, any meal needs to start with drinks.
Although I am not much of a drinker, normally it is one glass of wine and I am done. This time, I decided that I wanted to try their signature drink , the Painkiller.
After all, it is National Rum Month. And what better way to celebrate than with this yummy drink. I mean just look at it. My mouth started drooling as soon as I saw it.
I mean Pusser’s Rum, Cream of coconut, pineapple juice, orange juice, a toasted coconut rim and nutmeg. Yummy!! I will admit that I couldn’t finish it all so Raul did have to help me with it. If you haven’t tried it you should! I am going to try to attempt to make this at home soon.
Now onto the food. Raul, who isn’t very adventurous stuck with a cheeseburger and fries.
Mikaela followed in her dad’s footsteps and got a steak with fries and broccoli.
Gracie got their homemade Chicken Pot pie with a salad on the side. I will admit that I did have a bite of this and it was delicious.
And I got the Spagnsa. It is a cross between spaghetti and Lasagna. It was yummy. But I should have asked them to go light on the sauce due to my reflux issues.
All in all, I would say that Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen would be one restaurant that we will return to in the future. Tell me have you ever been to Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen before?
Hey wait don’t go I have a giveaway for a $25 gift card so you can experience Cheddar’s for yourself.
I love cheddars. Can’t go wrong with their chicken pot pie. I also love getting their lol vegetable plate. Cheddars was our place back in Newport News va. Glad there is one closer!
