Tips to Help You Ease Rosacea

AFM Rosacea

My husband suffers from Rosacea. If you are not familiar with what this is, Rosacea is a chronic skin condition that makes your face turn red and may cause swelling and skin sores that look like acne. The strong winds and cooler temperatures can trigger a flare up. Here are some things that we have found to be helpful during these times of cooler weather.

  • Beat Indoor heat- Adjust your temperature in your house to the lowest comfortable setting and use an indoor humidifier to prevent air dryness.

  • Combat the wind- Use a scarf to protect your face when out in the cold.

  • Keep using sunscreen throughout the year.

  • Keep your hot beverages warm. Allow heated beverages to cool down before you drink them.

  • Manage your stress- Take time out  of the day to relax.

  • If you have medication make sure you take them.

These tips will help you to avoid flare ups this cold winter season.
