Tijuana Flats New Menu is #FlatOutrageous

This event was sponsored by Tijuana Flats; all opinions are honest and my own.

Tijuana Flats

Y’all remember a while back I told you about my first experience at Tijuana Flats in Cary.  I fell in love with not only the food but the whole atmosphere. From the moment, I walked into the door until we left I felt like a VIP. That was first of many trips there. Seriously, folks, it is like one of our favorite places to eat in Cary. That is why when I got the email asking if I would like to attend a tasting of their new menu I jumped at the chance. (But I do have to apologize for not telling you sooner about their impressive menu.)

Sarah Tijuana Flats

This time it was a different location in Cary, but the service and the food were just as fantastic. Of course, when I arrived I was so excited to see Sarah, the marketing coordinator for Tijuana Flats and Adam. I was impressed that Sarah remembered me from the last tasting.

Of course, me being the early bird that I am – I got there as they were setting up for the night.  So, I grabbed a glass of water and set to work catching up on writing some blog posts.

Leslie at Tijuana Flats

Finally, it came time for tasting. I was so excited to see Leslie from SobeSavvy there. Leslie and I had met at Trifabb meet up back in December, and she is such a sweetheart.

Laura Tijuana Flats

My friend Laura from 27 Words and I had an excellent night chatting with Leslie and her husband about the new menu items, the salsas, and life in general. I am so looking forward to seeing Leslie again.

Jerk Chicken Tacos

Well enough about the atmosphere, let’s get down to the food. I will admit that my favorite was the Jerk Chicken Street Tacos with Pineapple salsa. Folks those tacos were spicy. And the fact that they were my favorite is unbelievable because I tend to shy away from Spicy food. But these were so good, so good in fact that I have since gone back to order them again. They were that good. But then again, they also had me at pineapple. I always ask for extra pineapple salsa it cuts down the spiciness a little bit.

Tijuana Flats Trio

Of course, you can’t go wrong with the trio, chips, salsa, and guac. I am not a big fan of guacamole, but I can’t get enough of Tijuana Flats Guac.

Tijuana Flats new menu

    • Crispy Baja Fish (crispy fish, chipotle crema, shaved cilantro cabbage & pineapple salsa)
    • Lime Steak (grilled garlic-lime steak, avocado crema, shaved cilantro cabbage, pico de gallo & cotija cheese)
    • Jerk Chicken (crispy jerk chicken, MoreFire! hot sauce, shaved cilantro cabbage, pineapple salsa & cotija cheese)

  • Bangin’ Chicken® Tostadas (crispy corn tortillas with Smack My Ass Bangin’ Chicken®, refried beans, cheddar-jack cheese, grilled onions & peppers, tomatoes & ranch dressing).

Tijuana Flats Crew

Of course, no post about Tijuana flats would be complete without mentioning the salsa bar. Shelby, our fantastic server, that night made a platter of salsas for Leslie so she could taste all of them. Which brings my next point, the customer service at Tijuana Flats is out of this world. You are greeted from the moment you walk into the door almost like you are an old friend coming for a visit. I look forward to our visits to Tijuana Flats on the way to soccer games.

[su_box title=”My Last Word” box_color=”#abd3ef”]Folks, take my word for it if you ever have a chance to eat at Tijuana Flats, which by the way is Tex-Mex, run don’t walk to this amazing restaurant. It will be an experience you won’t forget. [/su_box]
