Preparing For Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is here, are you prepared? Me not so much that is why today I am researching and printing out coupons that my girls can trade in for services later. Like for instance, for Gracie I am going to make up coupons for a free bedtime story, a TV time with mom and so forth and so on. For Mikaela, I am going to give her some coupons for no nagging time etc. (She is a teenage girl) and Maddie basically she is a dream giving her anything will make her happy. Valentine’s Day is not about spending a lot of money on your loved ones. There are so many things that you can prepare to make the day special. For instance, most Thursdays Raul works nights so the girls and I normally have a frozen pizza for dinner but not tonight.  I have planned one of my girls’ favorite dinners tonight.

I realized this week when I was teaching the lesson of Valentine’s Day how important it is to show those we love how much we love them. I asked the children what gift they can give someone for Valentine’s Day. And out of the mouth of babes, hugs and kisses were on the top of their lists. So that is how I am preparing for Valentine’s Day with lots of hugs and kisses. Yes, it is that simple. It is amazing to me how something so simple can be overlooked.
