It sucks getting older. It seems that food you once loved has become your bitter enemy. I can remember when eating ice cream was never a problem for me but now it seems I have suddenly can’t eat it without spending at least an hour in the bathroom because of it. What can I say Poop happens?

Because of my busy lifestyle, traveling to visit my daughters at school, carrying my youngest to her million ( well maybe not a million) doctors appointments, working at the farm, and doing blog related things, I can’t let something like a bathroom situation take control of my life. Just because I am older doesn’t mean that it had to stop me from going.

That is why I make sure I increase my fiber intake with Metamucil. It makes the time spent in the bathroom go smoother so to speak. So that I have more time to do what I want to do and not having to worry or think about the tummy distress.  Plus it removes the waste that weighs me down*. You know that waste that makes you feel blah?? And another reason why I chose Metamucil is that it is the # 1 doctor recommended fiber brand and it can be taken as much as 3 times a day. I also love that it helps to restore regularity* and help promote digestive health*.

Getting old doesn’t mean that you must give up living. It just means that you must adjust and learn a new way of doing things. I mean an Empty Nest isn’t the end of the world, in fact, I am seeing all the opportunities ahead for an even fuller life because there will be more time to experience things that I wanted to do without having to worry about getting back in time for school pickup. And my schedule for the week doesn’t have to made around the girls’ activities. Don’t get me wrong, I loved when my girls were younger and that busy life of being soccer mom and room mom. But I am also looking forward to the time where I can look at my husband of almost 25 years and say let’s go away for the weekend and not have to worry about what to do with the girls. We just have to worry about what to do with Koda, our 10-week-old Australian Shephard, and Allie, our spoiled rotten 7-year-old Shih Tzu princess.

Although I mourn those times that my girls were little, I know that just like when I use Metamucil things will come out just fine. There may be a few bumps along the road, but there is still a bright future ahead.
