We arrived at the game an hour before  start time and after parking we checked in for our tickets. Before checking in we came across a promotion from Chevrolet fill out a survey and get a free T-shirt. We got  6 T-shirts after we each filled out a survey. The seats we were given were amazing. They were not as good as the ones for the Chivas USA game.  But they were only a couple of sections down. We found our seats and then the skies opened up.

Yep that is right crazy North Carolina weather we had a thunderstorm right before the game was about to start. There was about an hour delay but they were still determined to play. While waiting for the game, we huddled under the shelter with all the other fans. Most were very cordial but there were one group of fans that were not very respectful of the fact there were small children around. They were yelling and using foul language. At one point, Raul was about to say something to them but then the rain let up. I was able to snap this picture while we were waiting for the rain to stop. My husband was like a little kid in a candy store.

After the rain stopped, it was onto the game only to have it stop after about 6 minutes of playing time because the lights went out. So to answer the question  where was I when the lights went out why we were at the Railhawks game.

Soon after the game was under way ,  I was a little disappointed that one of our favorites, Justin Willis was not starting. He did play later in the game so it was okay. The Railhawks are an amazing team that are very family friendly. As for the other team, I can not say the same. They played very dirty and whenever a foul was called on one of their players, they looked around like what who me?? Seriously, if you did the crime be a man and admit to it. The reason I say that another one of our favorite players Low, got called for a foul and immediately he put his hands up as if to say you  right  and did not argue with the ref. The other team however acted like teenagers but I will have to brag and say  my teenager girls act better than them. And you know teenage girls they are all about the  drama.

Of course having teenage girls who play soccer, you can imagine the conversations that were heard during the game. Bri, our adopted daughter, who plays soccer with the girls, came up with this gem. Maddie, my oldest,  plays the position of sweeper for her team and the girls were having a conversation and Bri said Maddie was a swiffer, you know the sweeper lol.

The Railhawks put on a great world class game, and you might remember  we attended another game this year and I hate to admit we rooted for the other team, Chivas USA. Yes I am hanging my head in shame, not rooting for the home team , but in a way we were Chivas USA is a branch of Chivas Guadalajara which is where my husband is from so I think the team will give  me a pass.

After the game, the girls stood in Autography Alley. That is another way they are family friendly, they  have a section for  fans to stand to get the players autographs. It was awesome and the players were amazing. Thanking us for coming out to the game and sticking around through the rain and the power outrage. The girls had a great time joking around with them as well. Bri fell in love with #5 Paul Hamilton, she told him that when she turned 18 in 2 years she was coming back for him. He said his wife might have problem with that. But the guy right behind  him said he would wait for her LOL.

There is never a dull moment with this girl. She had them sign her purse. LOL She could have had them sign her shirt but nope not Bri she has to be different.

Of course, Mikaela got Akira Fitzgerald’s autograph. She loves him so much. The girls were talking about him all throughout the game.

Here he is signing their shirts.

He is the goal keeper. Then they were talking about how he looked like Luis  Lopez Fitzgerald from the old soap opera, Passions. I told the girls that this certain actor, Galen Gering now  plays Rafe,  on Days on Our Lives. Check out the comparison.

Here  are some pictures from the autograph alley. My girls were so excited. It was definitely worth sticking around to get the autographs.

Kupono Low, has been playing for the time since 2007. He is one of our favorite players. I interviewed his wife and him at one time.

Breiner Ortiz signs the girls shirts. The girls fell in love with him. He was signing with the Sharpie that we had brought from home and when he got down to the people next to us who did not have a sharpie, he said to the girls “Please,” and then made a gesture for the Sharpie. The girls fell in love with his voice and thought he was too cute.

Austin Da Luz, the Captain, signs. When he signed Bri’s purse I told him it would worth a lot of money one day and he laughed and said only if someone put some money in it.

Austen King, a player that is from just down the road from us signs Bri’s Purse.

This was one of the other favorites of the girls. Cesar Elizondo quickly became one of their favorites not only because as the girls said he was cute but also because he was an awesome player. The girls told him that they were about to jump out on the field and defend him when the guy from the other team fouled him.

Julius James from Trinidad and Tobago signs. I would have loved to hear him talk.

All in all it was an awesome time , minus the vulgar language by a group of fans while we were waiting during the rain delay.

If you located in the Raleigh\Cary Area or even in surrounding counties, it is well worth the time to have good clean family fun. You can get tickets by going to their website.
