The Top Ten Songs on My Playlist for 2019

I had already decided that I was going to do a top 10 playlist this year, but last week Spotify made it so much easier. I love how they compiled a list, which made this post a lot easier to compose. I will admit that I wasn’t at all surprised by this list. And I honestly can tell you why so without further adieu here are my top 10 songs on my Playlist of 2019.

- You Say by Lauren Daigle – I would often play this in the car when I’m feeling extremely anxious or when I was alone. This song got me through so much. It made me appreciate who I am in the grand scheme of things.

- Holy Spirit by Francesca Battistelli- I often play this in my blog cabin before I sit down to work on a challenging post or when the words just aren’t coming to me. This song helps to clear my mind and reminds me to take a breath and relax. Even if the words don’t come, there is no need to stress over it.

- Defender also by Francesca Battistelli- This verse “When I thought I lost me, You knew where I left me, You reintroduced me to Your love, You picked up all my pieces, Put me back together, You are the defender of my heart” is one that sends chills down my spine. I love the melody of this song. Once again, this is one song that has a calming effect on me.

- You Don’t OwnMe by SAYGRACE and G-Eazy- I blame NCIS New Orleans for this song. I binge-watched it one day and have an NCIS New Orleans playlist that I listen to a lot when I am in the car. Plus, this song was also in one of my favorite movies First Wives Club.

- One Call Away by Charlie Puth- I have loved this song since I first heard it. But it didn’t hurt that he is also one of Gracie’s favorite singers. In fact, I took her to see him in concert at the Coastal Credit Music Park for her 16th birthday.

- The Breakup Song by Francesca Battistelli- (Notice a trend here) This was the first song I heard by her, and this song led me to the other ones by her. It is all about breaking up with Fear. And that is what my journey is all about. Letting go of all the fears and anxieties that I have let control me for so long.

- The Way I Am by Charlie Puth- This was the opening song of his concert. It always brings a smile to my face. I remember how Gracie was enjoying being in the moment, dancing, and singing, forgetting about how she looked or if people were judging her.

- La Chona By Los Tucanes de Tijuana- You know I had to throw a Mexican song in the mix. This song got me out on the dance floor at Maddie’s Wedding. It is one of my favorites and this is one that I could play on repeat and not get tired of it. But here is a little warning, watch out when you are listening in the car- you might end up speeding a little. Just Sayin’!

- Shallow by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper- I mean, who wouldn’t love this song after seeing them perform it. It is such a great song to sing along to in the car.

- Speechless by Dan + Shay- I was pulling really hard for Maddie to walk down the aisle to this song. But instead, Adele’s “To Make You Feel My Love” won out. But that didn’t mean that I didn’t sing along when I saw Dan + Shay perform it this summer.
Well, those were my top ten, but I did want to mention two honorable mentions. I might not have listened to them enough for them to make the top ten, but they still had a significant impact on me.

Honorable Mention #1- Church on Sunday by SAYGRACE- again, I blame NCIS New Orleans, the same episode, Suspicious Minds. There is just something about this song that speaks to me.

Honorable Mention #2- H.O.L.Y. By Florida Georgia Line- I saw them perform this song this summer, and it sent chills up my spine. During the last chorus, they had the audience turn on the flashlights on their phones and wave. It was, indeed, a moving experience.
So those were songs that were my top ten songs for my playlist for 2019. So tell me have you heard of any of these songs before? What is your top played song of 2019?
