Judging at the Wayne County Fair
Fall brings some many wonderful things. The leaves start to change colors, cooler temperatures ( well at least for some, here in NC it is still hot.) and most of all the fun fall activities and fairs. I love to go to our county fair just walk around and to taste the food. Just recently, I was asked to judge at the Wayne County Fair and I thought it would be a neat story to share.
Let me start by saying that I always have a why didn’t I enter moment when I walk around looking at the exhibits and the entries. This year I was able to judge at the Wayne County Fair, three different categories. The first one was recyclables. Y’all know how much I love finding new purposes for long forgotten items. I mean just look at some of the projects I had done in the past.
This category was so up my alley that I made a mental note and a reminder on my phone to enter next year. Just look at all the amazing pieces.
After I was done with the one category, I was then asked if I could help judge some more categories. I said sure. The scarecrow contest is one that only children under the age of 18 qualify to enter. I just fell in love with the imagination of this bunny. Isn’t he awesome?
I then went to work judging the special occasion section of the fair. Basically, all of these entries were for parties. You know I had another one of those moments as well. I am so entering some of the stuff I made for Mikaela’s and Gracie’s Quinceneara here next year. I mean come on, I totally could rack up some money if I won.
I will say that judging at the Wayne County Fair was not only fun but a learning experience for me as well. I hope that I will be asked to judge again next year.
