Blowing Bubbles Memories From Childhood

I received  some bubbles to help write this post. However the memories and fun we had blowing bubbles are all ours.

As a child, I loved nothing better than spending time outside. Riding bikes, cloud watching, playing ball and playing in the pool are some of the things my sisters and I enjoyed. But my favorite thing to do  was when my mom would bring out the bubbles. Even my mom who is a big kid at heart would get in on the fun. We would have contests who could make the biggest bubble. We would spin around in circles waving the bubble wands in the air to make bubbles almost dance.

The weather has finally started to turn “Springy” here. One day it was just to beautiful to be inside so I decided we all were going outside to get some Vitamin D. Recalling memories of my childhood I brought out the bubbles. We first tried blowing bubbles with the Gazillion Bubbles Bump-N-Go Bubble Car but Allie, our little Shih Tzu and the “unofficial” baby of the family wanted nothing to do with this thing.

However we found that she loved chasing the bubbles just not the van. So we set the van aside and started blowing bubbles the old-fashioned way. You should have seen how crazy she got chasing those bubbles. I don’t know who was having a better time us by laughing at her or her from chasing all the bubbles. Just look at the pictures.

"Where did the bubbles go?"
“Where did the bubbles go?”
Allie says it is my turn to blow bubbles. Now how does it work again?

All that bubbles chasing wore me out.

I also found some interesting facts about bubbles. Did you know?

  • A bubble gets it color from Iridescence. As light waves pass through it gets distorted by reflecting off the different layers of the soap film.
  • You can freeze bubbles.
  • Many bubbles make a foam.

Blowing bubbles reminds me of my childhood what reminds you of yours?

  1. We had a dog too who used to chase bubbles, it was hilarious. Even when they were up high she’d jump to try and get them. 🙂

  3. I had no idea that you can freeze bubbles. That I would certainly like to see. Every summer we get the kids lots and lots of bubbles and I even join in on the fun sometimes.
