Wonders with a Touch of Gold Earrings
Wow where to begin, if you noticed back in May, I started a series called Friday Smiles however a few weeks after I started writing it the bottom fell out with one phone call from my mom. My oldest sister passed away in her sleep unexpectedly. From then until now, I have been trying to keep my head above water. Not too long after that phone call, we got another one about my husband’s brother. So within the last year, we have lost a sister ( mine), 2 brothers ( my husband), a father (my husband’s), and my husband’s boss. So it has been rough over here. But I decided that I needed to bring back those Friday smiles but instead of calling them that, I would call them Weekend Wonders. So here are my weekend wonders with a touch of gold earrings, along with my reflections on the past week. But this time, there won’t be any set numbers; it will just be what I am amazed by that week. So without further Ado, here are the weekend wonders of this week.Â
Phone Calls with My Girls
I talked weekly with my girls. The other day I had almost a 2-hour phone call with my oldest daughter, who favors wearing gold earrings. Her commute is long, so she often calls me when she is driving home from work. ( #CaliforniaTraffic) Remember I wrote about how much she loved wearing Hoop Earrings.
The MOON
Have you ever really sat and looked at the moon? I have, and to be honest, I have taken it for granted, but the other day as I stepped out of the Blog cabin, I stopped and looked at the moon, which was covered in a haze. And it struck me that just like the moon, we all go through stages of our life. We must remember that God has plans for us and that the stage we are in won’t always be the same for the rest of our lives.Â
Coffee with Friends
In the past month, I have had coffee with 2 friends I haven’t seen in a while, and it was good for my soul. One of those friends I hadn’t seen in years but chatting over coffee, it was like no time had passed. The other friend was my crazy, fun-loving friend Hannah, and it was so good to catch up with her.Â
Becoming an LLC
I am officially an LLC. Even though it cost a little bit of money, I kept putting it off and putting it off until I made myself a promise that the next big job I got, I would use part of that money to become an LLC. Still trying to figure out all the ends and outs, but I have learned if I take it one small step at a time, I don’t get overwhelmed.Â
Being Invited to Media Events Again
Y’all, I can’t begin to tell you how long it has been since I have been to a media event. I think because I am not local to Raleigh, I am sometimes forgotten by PR companies, so it was great to be added to events. Look for some articles on this soon.Â
Fair Time
Y’all, it is fair time in North Carolina. I have already attended our local county fair and look forward to attending the state fair next week. Seeing all those farm animals just makes me smile.
So those are my weekend wonders for this week. Tell me what made you smile and made you grateful this week.
