Tasting Piada Italian Street Food for the First Time

Last night I attended the opening of an amazing new concept for North Carolina, an Italian Street Food Restaurant, Piada Italian Street Food. Think of it as if Chipolte and the olive garden had a baby. You get all the Italian flavors the garden has to offer with the assembly line ordering of Chipolte- the best of both worlds. So keep reading to see about Tasting Piada Italian Street Food for the First Time.

When I first entered the restaurant, I was impressed with the architectural details, from the black and white photographs on the wall to the minimalistic wood furnishing to the Vespa images throughout the tasting I knew this would be an experience I would not soon forget, and I was right.

Their Mac and Cheese

From the first taste of Blackberry Hibiscus Lemonade to the last taste of the cannoli chips, there was a party going on in my mouth. We were able to sample some of the offerings on the menu, from their lobster bisque ( which, by the way, was my first time tasting, but it won’t be my last.) to their grass-fed meatballs to their farmer’s market salad, everything was amazing. But I will have to caution you that their Mac and Cheese is very cheesy.

We also got to order something off of the menu, and I opted for the Avocado Piada. I mean, who doesn’t love avocado? I mean, just read the description:

Avocado Piada-

Italian-style street wrap with pancetta (bacon), argula, mozzarella, fresh avocado, sweet corn, tomato and basil aioli.

This was so good, but it was a little on the spicy side for me not sure exactly what it was, but my tongue was on fire.

I also love that there was an option to create your own salad, piada, or pasta. I think this is awesome for those who are a little adventurous.

I will tell you I can’t wait to go back and visit this amazing new place to eat.

The new location of Piada is 2016 Market Center Drive Morrisville, and it opened for business on October 18.

I was invited to be a guest at a preview event held at Piada Italian Street Food. However, my love of fabulous food is all my own.
