Racing Into History

Disclosure: My family and I were given complimentary passes in exchange for this review. All opinions expressed are 100% mine.

 Nascar Stimulator Race

Now you may remember from yesterday’s post I told you I would continue with some more of the NASCAR Hall of Fame. So strap yourself in for safety because we are going for a ride.

Imagine this it is race day. The air is electric, as the cars are slowly being lowered from the haulers. Pit crews are working on their cars making final adjustments. Drivers are getting ready getting their final instructions from NASCAR officials. They strap into their cars ready to begin racing. Do have that picture in your mind?

Well now at the museum you can actually race in a car during a stimulated race. The cost is an additional $5 but it is well worth it. Maddie and Raul decided to try their hands at racing. Before they could actually sit in the race car they had to get use to the steering wheels and the pedals. They had a few qualifying laps.

Then they were ready to race on the track. Maddie actually took two videos which I am going to share with you as she was racing in the car. I love her little commentary don’t you?

As Maddie said some people can’t drive she was wrecked several times. Raul ended up one 1 lap down and in 6th place and Maddie ended up 3 laps down.

But they had a good time and that is all that mattered. It is well worth spending the extra $5 to see what the cars are like and to actually experience taking a few laps in the car.

I think the whole museum was a hit. Tomorrow I am going to wrap up our visit to the museum with more of a photo essay of our journey throughout the museum.

Remember the NASCAR Hall of Fame is open daily from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. (schedule subject to change) and has an attached parking garage on Brevard Street in Charlotte, NC. Adult admission is $19.95, military/senior admission is $17.95 and children admission is $12.95 (ages 5-12). Children younger than 5 are free. Ticket combos and group discounts also are available..

Check back tomorrow to see the exciting finish of our museum tour.

  5. I think doing a simulated race would be fun. That’d be the only way I’d want to get in a race car, cuz I’m a big chicken of fast driving. 😉

  6. My father would have loved this. He was a big Nascar fan. I don’t really watch the races.
