Viva Italia with These Homemade Pizza Pockets

pizza pockets

You know the words to this song.

When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie
That’s amore !

Yep I have  another confession, I love pizza. But guess what pizza doesn’t love me? Can you say heartburn? I have to drink a big glass of milk with my slice of pizza pie if I eat more than one pizza. So how did you get passed the fact that pizza makes my heart burn. Why does something that taste so delicious can cause so much pain?

But I have found a way to Viva Italia without feeling the after effects.  Now I will tell you that this lightbulb didn’t come to me one day while I was contemplating the injustices in this world, but it actually came to me when I shopping in my local Publix and I saw that they were having a Viva Italia savings event. And I thought why not try to make a pizza dish that won’t give me heartburn.

If you know anything about me, you love I love shortcuts for most anything except in the bedroom, but that is a story for another day and another blog. But I love shortcuts in the kitchen for sure. I mean seriously as much as I love creating new recipes, with soccer season just around the corner ( like this Friday) my time is limited.

Seriously soccer season will have us attending no less than 4 games a week and that is not including if the Carolina Railhawks have a home game on the weekend. That is what you get when you have two girls playing for two different teams.

So a quick and easy recipes are just what I need. Sorry about that little sidetrack, but now back to when I was in Publix.

I was standing in the refrigerator section and my eyes fell on Pillsbury Crescent Rolls. Pillsbury has always been my go to items. So I added 2 cans of crescent rolls to the Hunts Tomato Paste cans that were already in my cart and an idea began to form. Why not make homemade pizza pockets? They are so easy to make and very frugal as well.  So are you ready to make some homemade pizza pockets?
