Thoughtful Gifts are the best

Take to heart the notion, “It’s the thought that counts.” In gift giving, be more creative than extravagant. I don’t know about you but I love to give the creative gift. Gifts that have a lot of thought behind them mean more to me than an expensive one. The best gift that Gracie had every gotten was one from her best friend. Last year for her birthday, her best friend painted a picture of her stuffed teddy bear “Beary”. She has had her since she was five days old. My older daughters made it for her at Build-A-Bear when she was five days old and it has been her best bud ever since. So you see that is what true gifts are all about. It does not matter what the gift is if you remember that it is the thought behind the gift that matters most. Gracie cherishes her painted “Beary” and the fact that her friend took the time to paint a one of a kind picture for her made it more amazing. So when you are searching for that perfect gift this holiday season consider looking for one that expresses how you truly feel about that person and buy from the heart instead of the price tag.

  1. I couldn’t agree more! What a lovely idea to painting her favorite toy! I don’t have much money so I am making a lot of presents this year and at work we are holding lunchtime sessions in the run up to Christmas, teaching people how to make different presents. One of my colleagues has done one on making sock monkeys, which I’m making for my nieces and nephew http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Sock-Monkey and I’m making Gingerbread houses and a personalized calendar. I’m also buying gifts for people that also help people living in poverty like these http://bit.ly/Xh6PyH A fluffy duck for a family in Bangladesh is £14. The eggs are nutritious, while the ducks can also be bred and sold to generate desperately needed income to pay for food, clothing and other necessities. I think gifts like these are really thoughtful 🙂

  2. I totally agree. I would much rather have a thoughtful gift instead of an extravagant gift. Although I would appreciate either
