Tortillas A Staple in Our House

Being married to an Hispanic man, tortillas are one of the things we always have on hand in our kitchen. I recently had come across a new brand of tortillas from MexAmerica. Did you know that they are the number one tortilla brand in the northeastern United States? I have to admit that down here in the south I had never heard of this brand before. But now I am looking for them in the stores where I shop. I have even asked store managers if there is a possibility that they could carry them in their stores. So far nothing has happened but I still have my fingers crossed. Yes they are that awesome. I liked the fact that not only did they make the regular kind of tortillas – flour and corn. But that they also make whole wheat as well. I also love the fact that they come in a variety of sizes. So no matter what I serve for dinner, there will be a tortilla suitable for my needs. Not only do they sell tortillas but they also sell flavored wraps. I have to admit that I am a little hesitant in trying these because I see tortillas in one way. Here is a little piece of trivia for you: Did you know that in the poorer sections of Mexico people can not afford silverware so they use tortillas as their forks and spoons. That is why tortillas were served with every meal. How fun is that?
