The Benefits of Moving Your Wedding from Summer to Winter
The coronavirus has put a damper on so many people’s plans. Graduations, baby showers, and weddings all over the world have been postponed. Brides, I can’t imagine how heartbroken you are about having to postpone your special day. However, there are some positives about the experience that I want to highlight. These are the benefits of moving your wedding from summer to winter.
Winter Weddings are Gorgeous
There are so many excellent reasons to have a winter wedding. If you have a wedding further north, you could see snow on your big day. Fresh snow makes for great wedding pictures. You’ll look back at your wedding album on your twentieth anniversary, and you’ll be amazed at how beautiful your photos are. Also, there are so many creative ways you can decorate for a winter wedding. Utilize some twinkling lights to emphasize the season. Candles down the aisle are also super romantic and reflective of winter. Yes, a winter wedding ceremony does look different from one that’s held in the summer. However, if you just tweak your vision a little bit, everything will be stunning.
More Time to Plan
I don’t know about y’all, but I need all the planning time I can get. This sentiment is especially true of wedding planning. Brides are always scrambling to get things done at the last minute. One benefit of moving your wedding from winter to summer is that you’ll have more time to plan. You won’t be in such a rush to finalize every little detail. If you reschedule things, you can have more time to focus on making sure everything is perfect. After all, nothing makes a bride freak out more than when something goes wrong on her wedding day.
Everyone Can Be There
Having a wedding this summer just isn’t feasible, y’all. Even if certain restrictions are lifted, not everyone can attend the nuptials. If you change the season of your wedding, it’s likely that more people will go. Everyone wants their grandparents to witness them getting married. Make sure grandma and grandpa can be there by switching things around. Yes, facing the reality that you can’t get married when you wanted to is heartbreaking. However, the celebration will be more meaningful if all of your loved ones are involved. I promise it’ll be worth the wait.
Things are incredibly uncertain right now. Sadly, some states may have some regulations in place even this winter. So, please, pay attention to government guidelines if you change the season of your wedding. Ultimately, every couple wants to keep their guests safe. More people will likely be able to attend the soiree during the colder months. They may just have to wear masks while celebrating. Hopefully, even if restrictions are still in place, things will look a little more hopeful than they will this summer.
I’m getting married in November and this post made me feel hopeful. 🙂 Thanks.
