My SuperPower for the Day
I am taking part in the #nablopomo18 writing party,
I was asked this question the other day “If you could have a superpower, even for one day, what would it be and why?”. At first, I thought this should be easy, but as I was staring at my computer screen, I realized it wasn’t that easy it was really hard to decide which one I wanted. When I originally started this blog, I had visions of being a superhero mom.
After about eight years or so, of having this blog, I finally had a header that reflected it. My superhero image cape included. As I reflected on that, I realized that of all the superpowers out there I would want the ability to fly.
Why do you ask that superpower? Because then I could fly and see my girls whenever I had a free weekend. With everything going in the world, I wish that I could keep my girls in my little nest. But I know that is not a reality, in fact, for them to grow, they have to leave the nest. So the ability to fly on any given day to visit them would mean so much to this momma’s heart.
Having one daughter almost 3 hours away and another clear across the country, I am thankful for Facetime as well as texting, but sometimes that is not enough. I haven’t seen my oldest daughter since June. I still recall her driving away with all her worldly possessions as she trekked across the country to begin a new chapter in her life. Even though I am proud of her for following her dreams, I just wish that it wasn’t so dang far away. This momma misses her big girl as well as her fiance, Lex and their cats Myelin and Helix.
So yea if asked again what superpower I would love to have I know now that I would answer without hesitation the ability to fly.
