How to Solve Those Annoying Bathroom Cleaning Problems

Your bathroom can be one of the most annoying rooms to try and keep clean. You’d think with all the water and soap, it wouldn’t be so difficult, but it turns out that soap can often make your bathroom dirtier than it was before. If you have more than one bathroom that you use, you have even more work waiting for you every week. There are some bathroom cleaning problems that you can just never seem to solve, from streaky mirrors to soap scum in the bathtub. While there’s no permanent fix for cleaning issues, there are ways to make things easier and clean your bathroom properly.

If you struggle to clean your bathroom, here are some of the things that you can do to make cleaning just a little bit easier.

Keep the Grouting Clean

Tiles are a great choice for your bathroom. You can wipe them down, they’re ideal for a room where there’s a lot of moisture, and you can make them look amazing too. The only problem is that the grouting in between the tiles can be a little tricky to deal with. Keeping it clean can be tough, especially around your shower. It can become stained more easily than you might like, and even putting a lot of elbow grease into cleaning it up doesn’t always work. Fortunately, you can clean your grouting using simple solutions available at home. One option is to use toothpaste, or you could make your own grout cleaner. There are plenty of recipes out there. Of course, you can also just buy a grout cleaning product.

Protect Your Shower Doors

Your shower doors can be the bane of your existence. No matter how much you clean them, they still look streaky and grubby. To prevent this from happening, the first thing you should do is protect your shower door and cubicle. If your shower doors are always dirty, you should spray them with a shower door glass repellant. This will help to prevent watermarks from showing up. However, to make extra sure that your shower cubicle stays clean, you should have a bathroom squeegee to hand. After showering, use it on the glass to wipe any water away.

Keeping the Curtain Clean

Some people have a shower curtain instead of a glass shower door. If that’s you, you might find that your curtain starts to get mold and mildew on it. After all, your bathroom is often damp with a lot of condensation, which can lead to problems. To prevent your shower curtain from getting grimy, you need to straighten it out to let it dry. When you struggle to straighten the curtain, you might benefit from making the movement smoother. Some petroleum jelly on the curtain rod will help it to glide more easily.

Prevent Grimy, Fogging Mirrors

Mirrors fogging up and getting dirty can be annoying too. You want to be able to use your mirror, even if you’ve just got out of the shower. One of the natural solutions that you can use to clean your mirrors is black tea. It’s excellent for removing all kinds of streaks, marks, and grime. When your mirrors are annoying you by fogging up, there are a few things you can do. Firstly, ensure good ventilation, either with a fan or by opening the window. You can also use car wax or vinegar to protect your mirrors.

Clean Up Bathtub Scum

When you have a bath, you want to step into a nice clean bath without having to worry about cleaning up a ring of soap scum first. There are plenty of different cleaners that you can use to clean your tub, but you can also make use of natural ingredients if you want to. Grapefruit or other citrus is excellent for this, especially when combined with salt to make a natural scrub/scourer.

Organize Your Bathroom

Another bathroom cleaning problem that might plague you is just keeping everything tidy. Towels dumped on the floor (not by you, of course), too many products everywhere, and empty toilet roll tubes can all annoy you. If you want a more organized bathroom, you might need to rethink its design. Give everyone their own cubby or shower hanger to keep their products in. Alternatively, make everyone have a toiletry kit that they keep in their room. Make sure you have somewhere to put used towels, as well as somewhere to put cardboard tubes – plus a sign reminding everyone to throw them away!

Cleaning your bathroom is annoying, but you can solve some of the most pressing problems easily.
