Happy Thanksgiving: A Note of Gratitude

A Note of Gratitude by North Carolina Lifestyle Blogger Adventures of Frugal Mom

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! I can’t begin to tell you how much having you as readers make me feel so thankful. This past year has undoubtedly been one of challenges. It seemed like everywhere I turn a problem stood in my way. There were some challenges that  I have yet to overcome, and I am working on, but I am learning in my study on the book Anxious For Nothing by Max Lucado that I need to let go and let God.

The challenges I have yet to overcome I have let go and let God, and I feel so much lighter because of it. Who knew that this year would be one of betrayal by friends and family alike? But I have persisted, and some relationships that were challenged are even stronger than before and others I am sitting back and letting God show me the way.

Things have been super busy here, and I am thankful for the opportunities that this blog has given me. I have had some incredible experiences and opportunities, and I am thankful that I am swamped with work but so grateful for that.

I am thankful that my family is stronger than ever. Two weeks ago a tragedy occurred in our family, two of our young nephews (ages 22 and 15) were killed in a car accident. It was a shock to all although we miss them so horribly much we are thankful that the other two nephews that were in the car with them weren’t taken as well. So this Thanksgiving, I implore you to hold your family close because you never know what tomorrow will bring? It doesn’t seem possible that another Thanksgiving has come without my dad sitting at the head of the table. He would always move his chair back from the table after he was finished eating dinner and say to my mom ” I think I will keep you around for another year.” It was a running joke in my family.

On this day of Thanksgiving, enjoy the time spent with family and friends, I know I am going to enjoy my older girls being home even if it only for a day. Don’t overeat turkey.
