Keep The Name Please

How many times have we heard in the news about some Hollywood star making a name for themselves by doing something illegal or obscene? It seems like everyday there is another story coming out about some person that you admire doing  something wrong. To me they are doing to get the fame but at what cost. My daughters look at me like I am crazy when I tell them that things they post on Facebook and twitter might come back and haunt them later.

They just look at me and say “Really, Mom!” emphasized by an eye roll. They do not realize how important a person’s name is. Basically your name is the only thing you have throughout your life so why not try to protect it. You want a good reputation not one of shame and regret. Sometimesreputation managementcan be hard. Because as the Adele song goes Rumor Has It. Think how something so little can explode into something that can be life altering. Teenage years are very hurtful years and children can be mean so why not try you best to protect your young ones and their good names. I have heard so many stories of children who decided to take own their lives over a little misquote that spread into something bigger. Reputation is important to us all it just depends on what we do with it. Do you want a good or a  bad reputation??
