Feeling Like Kid Again at Christmas Town

Feeling like a kid again at

Do you remember what it was like as a kid when the fair came to town and you couldn’t wait to ride those rides? Do you? A few days ago it was like I was travelled back in time when my family and I went to Busch Gardens’ Christmas Town. This isn’t our first year going, but it was the first time that I was taken back to my childhood. I love just walking through the park looking at the lights and rarely ever ride the rides but this time it was different. And nope there wasn’t a roller coaster ride in there because like I said before I rode my first and last one a few years back and I swore I would never ride another one as long as I live.

But I did ride several rides in the park. The Flight of Lights is a must ride for everyone. You fly through the air in a cable car looking at the lights and the park below. I am normally afraid of heights but surprisingly on this ride I wasn’t. It was a pretty amusing sight to see all the lights below and also to wave to my girls who were in the car ahead of us.

Then there was the Peppermint Twist aka as the teacups. My oldest and youngest daughter rode this with me. Mikaela and my husband, Raul decided to sit this one out. They took pictures from the sidelines. As Maddie said they were our own personal paparazzi. Gracie got on the ride first, I sat in the middle and then Maddie was one the other side. As the ride spun around, I found myself laughing and just enjoying myself as if I didn’t have a care in the world, almost childlike. It was great for just a few moments to be able to forget everything from the past two years and just laugh my head off. Of course, Maddie didn’t enjoy the ride as much as Gracie and I because I was squishing her.

Although the Peppermint Twist was my favorite ride this time. My all-time favorite is the carousel. Love this ride since I was a child. Although I don’t climb up on the horses I do enjoy sitting and snuggling with my husband on the carriage seats as our girls go up and down on their horses.

And no trip to the park would be complete without a ride on the train which takes you throughout the park to see the lights while Christmas songs are being played.

I would like to add that going to an amusement park is great form of exercise. My Fitbit Charge logged a lot of steps that day.

ChristmasTown is one event that everyone in my family looks forward to each year. Although the park is officially closed for the season, it is something everyone should check out.

I am an official Busch Garden Thrill Chaser. We received free admission into the park in exchange for our honest opinions on events.
