Experiencing My First Facial At Innerbloom Beauty
Y’all, you know that I have told you before that my word of the year is adventure. I decided early on that that would mean adventure in self-care as well. These past couple of weeks have been very stressful, and a lot of negative emotions have been pushed on me. One was my mom, who most of you know I have a complicated relationship with, fell and broke her hip. I didn’t find out until they needed me to do something ( that is how it goes in my family, and I have learned to live with it). I stayed by my mom’s side for almost 4 days at the hospital, losing sleep and being micromanaged (not by my mom). There was so much negativity swirling around me that I couldn’t take it. I knew to be my best self, I needed to take care of myself – so that meant limiting time spent and communication around the negative person. I met one friend for coffee and one for lunch, investigated a new church ( which we love), and finally booked that facial I have wanted to have since I don’t know when. So now you know the backstory; here is the rest of the story of my first facial at Innerbloom Beauty.
First, let me say going into this, I didn’t know what to expect, but I plan on having one once after 5-8 weeks from now on. It was so relaxing, and Lindsey was just amazing. I’m not going to lie; I was a little nervous, not because I didn’t know what to expect. I did Google it. Not because I didn’t know where it was – I actually wrote a post about a store that used to be in their location. But because of parking – I go downtown a lot, but it was a little further down than where I normally park, so I parked closer. Which was okay, but next time, I think I will just park in my normal spot and enjoy the short walk. But also anything new filled me with anxiety; I didn’t know what to expect, how my skin would react, or, for that matter if I would even like it.
But once I stepped into the building and met Lindsey, my anxious feelings started subsiding. And as soon as we stepped into her treatment room and saw the cowhide rug, I knew I was home and this was going to be a relaxing experience.
Y’all, I can’t begin to say how relaxed I was after this facial. I actually said I could have taken a nap after that. I loved the treatments that were used on my face, but y’all, that scalp massage, aromatherapy, and shoulder and neck massage were to die for. I hold a lot of tension in my neck, and I have a lot of neck and shoulder problems from when we got into the accident, and I had surgery. But it was divine, and don’t get me started on the hot towels. I thought I died and went to heaven. They were amazing.
I am so glad I stepped out of my comfort zone and booked my first facial at Innerbloom Beauty. I walked out there feeling relaxed and lighter and with an appointment for another one at the end of September.
If you are on the fence about a facial, try it once, and if it isn’t for you, then you can say okay, been there, done that, not gonna do it again. And if you are in Goldsboro or surrounding areas, check out Innerbloom Beauty.
