My two younger girls and I were honored to be sent a preview link for a new Christian movie coming out in stores March 24 based on the story of the prodigal son. This is our opinion of the movie.
Most Thursday nights my husband works for a few extra hours so we girls always have to find something to occupy our time. This past Thursday I did not have to look any further than my inbox to find something for us to do. You see I was sent an invitation with a link to watch and review the new Christian movie based on the story of the prodigal son called Confessions of A Prodigal Son.
The movie was a little slow to begin with but the story behind it was totally awesome. As we snuggled on the couch together to watch this movie about ones choices it lead to an open discussion about how the choices we make can affect the rest of our lives if we continue to make bad ones. I was surprised with how well written this movie was as well as how the actors were able to portray their parts so well. Kevin Sorbo plays the part of a minister in this movie, he is the father of the prodigal. But for some reason I still can’t get past him playing Hercules. But then I thought about the comparison between the two roles and totally realized that they aren’t that much different, they both wanted good in the world. They also set out to teach lessons. So in a way Hercules was a minister of some sorts.
Here is a trailer about the movie.
I will have to admit that our 3 year old Shih Tzu was a little confused by the movie, because after every time the character Allie’s name was mentioned she would look up and see who was calling her. Poor thing she didn’t know what was going on.
This movie is a great movie for family night and I would recommend it to families everywhere. As I said before it can lead to discussions about the consequences for our actions. So make sure you buy Confessions of A Prodigal Son on March 24 when it comes out in stores. You can pre order this movie on Amazon right now.
