73 Questions: Get to Know Me
I saw this post on my friend, Hannah’s blog and since the wedding has passed, I thought this would be an awesome post to do. It would be a super quick post and with all the craziness around here, I need quick and easy.
First, before I go into the questions and answer, let me tell you a little about Hannah. You might remember her post with her cutie, Windsor in my women’s empowerment series back in March. But within the past few months, we have gotten really close. I reached out to her when I learned she was participating in a Proverbs 31 Ministry online Bible Study and asked her if she wanted to get together for dinner to discuss the study. I started looking forward to our dinners, where not only do we discuss the book Hidden Joy but also anything that is laid on our hearts to share. She is one amazing woman and I am proud to call her my friend.
1.What’s the best thing that happened to you ? Honestly, I can’t just point out one thing, so I will share several. First, my two older girls and future son-in-law pulled off the biggest surprise when they flew in from California and didn’t let anyone know. Second, would be gathering with a few close friends to celebrate turning 50. Yep I wrote, I am now 50 years old. And most importantly gaining an amazing son (one who I already considered family) this month. –
2. What’s your favorite game? I honestly have tried to scale down on playing games on my phone or computer because they are such a time suck. But when I am bored I do play.
3. When are you most inspired? Most of the time ideas hit when I am doing my devotionals. Whether it is through the book I am reading or a particular Bible Verse or Story- I find myself writing notes for a potential blog post. Do all the ideas make it into posts? Nope, but when I am stuck on what to write I always refer to my several ( and I do mean several journals.)
4. If you could teach one subject in school, what would it be? This is super fun for me because I used to teach before life hit in 2014 so I would have to say Art or Music because any kid can excel in these and sometimes kids who don’t excel in the “typical” subjects can find their saving grace here.
5. What’s your favorite beverage? Sweet Tea and water. If you asked me this a few months ago I would have said any kind of soda but I haven’t had a glass of soda in a while ( over 3 months.)
6. What’s the best compliment you’ve ever received? That you write the way I think and thank you for being you.
7. What is your favorite birthday cake? Cheesecake, carrot cake, or My Grandma Davis ( may she rest in peace) Pineapple Cake
8. What is one thing you still have from your childhood? A yellow bean bag doll that my girls say looks creepy.
9. What is your favorite movie? Love and Other Drugs I love Jake Gyllenhaal.
10. What is something you can’t do? I can’t give myself Grace- I am learning but I am my own worst critic.
11. Window or aisle seat? Window all the time, because I love to see where I am going.
12. What is something that makes you laugh no matter what? That is hard. But I will have to say that my girls can make me laugh especially my middle daughter, she has a way of being blunt that it comes out so funny
13. What does creativity mean to you? Taking something and making it my own. I have always looked for a unique spin on things no matter what I am doing.
14. What are your favorite lyrics of all time? Amazing Grace
15. What is your favorite holiday? I wouldn’t say this is a holiday per se but anytime all three of my girls are home is my favorite. Sadly, that doesn’t happen often.
16. What’s heavily played on your playlist right now? Florida Georgia Line and Dan & Shay. It might have something to do with the concert I just attended.
17. If you could raid one woman’s closet, who would it be? Honestly, I would raid Khloe Kardashian’s closet. I love her style.
18. Must have purse item? My Hobo wallet (DUH)
19. What did you want to be when you were 12? A lawyer
20. What is something you won’t be doing in 10 years? Having kids living at home with us ( insert Ugly crying here)
21. What is an important life lesson for someone to learn? Being content in who you are.
22. How do you start your day? Each day is a new beginning, so I would say get out of bed. 🙂
23. Would you ever live anywhere besides where you do now? Yep, both my husband and I share a dream of one day having a little farm with a few cows and some other barnyard animals. No surprise why I feel so at home at the farm.
24. What is your favorite dessert? Cheesecake all-day
25. Is there a dessert you don’t like? Who doesn’t like dessert?
26. It’s brunch! What do you eat? Whatever is being served.
27. Where was the best vacation you’ve taken? My best vacation has been the weekend that my husband and I went with our two girls ( Gracie wasn’t born yet) to the Outer Banks of North Carolina to celebrate our wedding anniversary. This was an amazing trip and it was also the weekend my husband stopped smoking.

29. What is a book you are planning on reading? Becoming by Michelle Obama
30. What did you read most recently? Hidden Joy by Wendy Blight. It was a Proverbs 31 Online Bible Study book.
31. Favorite solo artist? I am really loving Lauren Daigle. You Say is my total theme song.
32. What is something you’re tired of? How people judge each other by race
33. What’s the city you wish to visit? Ponoma California ( That is where my big kids live)
34. Heels or flats? Flats all day long. My back can’t handle the heels.
35. Where does one go on a perfect road trip? Wineries
36. What do you do on a rainy day? Curl up with a good book or watch Netflix
37. What’s your favorite exercise? walking
38. What was your worst subject in school? Math
39. What is your spirit animal? Giraffe
40. What do you usually eat for breakfast? Normally a protein shake. I am not a big breakfast eater.
41. What do you usually eat for dinner? Whatever I have planned. There is normally not a set plan for dinner at our house. Sometimes we feel like cooking and sometimes it is a take out kind of day. It just depends on what kind of day we all have had.
42. Cooking or baking? Both, it just depends on what is needed to be made.
43. Favorite baked good? My Grandma Dresser’s Oatmeal cookies. My mom let my sister borrow her recipe card and she lost it and we have yet to be able to recreate them.
44. What is something you wish you could be good at? Not worrying about what other people think
45. Skiing or surfing? Does Surfing the web count? 😉
46. First celebrity crush? Danny Ferry ( A Duke Basketball Player) I even asked him to prom 😉
47. Most recent celebrity crush? I love Lucas Black from NCIS New Orleans
48. What color was your prom dress?Royal blue with a big poofy skirt.
49. How do you manage stress? I don’t
50. What do you do to relax? Sleep
51. Age you were first kissed? 20
52. Favorite fashion trend of all time? Don’t have one
53. Best fashion advice you’ve ever received? Don’t buy that dress
54. What is your current favorite piece of clothing that you own? This dress I got at The Flourish Market
55. Shoes or bags? Bags
56. How do you know when you’re in love? I knew the moment I met my husband. I know sickening right, you hear all those stories about it being love, at first sight, I didn’t believe in it until it happened to me.
57. Television show you’ve binged on recently? Friends, it is leaving Netflix at the end of the year, and I can’t handle it.
58. Who do you turn to when you’re sad? That is a hard one. It just depends on the situation.

62. What are you most enchanted by? Creativity and furry animals
63. What is your biggest strength? Encouraging others
64. What is your biggest weakness? Beating myself up over little things
65. What are 3 words to describe living in your city? Rural, farm equipment, and quiet
66. Cutest thing on planet earth? I would say Allie, but my daughter’s dwarf hamster Nugget is so stinking cute.
67. Favorite color? Blue
68. Best first date idea? Honestly a group date so there is no pressure and the nervousness is out the door.
69. Favorite time of day? The coolest part of the day 🙂 Don’t laugh, in North Carolina it is so hot that the coolest part is the best for me.
70. What do you notice about someone when you first meet them? How they treat other people
71. What’s your guilty pleasure? Buying journals. I have so many I need to stop buying them.Â
72. Favorite band? Honestly, I don’t have one at the moment.
73. Plans for the weekend? Depends on what the weekend holds, hopefully, something fun.
