When We Are Gone

Now that we are getting older our thoughts are no longer about frivolous things like the fancy cars, being in style to making sure that we keep up with the Jones’. Instead, our nights are filled with thoughts of how we will provide for our girls when we are gone. Being a parent is hard and messy but it is also one of the most rewarding jobs you will ever have. But as each day goes by and each new gray hair shows our thoughts turn to the future and to insurance policies.

So that leads me down the rabbit hole of what policy is best for us? Term or whole life insurance policies. Here is what I found out about term policies.

Term life insurance is a type of life insurance policy that covers the insured for a certain period of time, or term. The policy then expires, and the insured will need to purchase another insurance policy if they want to maintain coverage. It is typically less expensive than permanent (or whole) life insurance because it only covers the insured for a specified period of time.

It can be purchased in increments as short as one year. It allows you to provide your family with financial security in the event that you die during your coverage period. It also provides your beneficiaries with financial protection against debts and expenses that they may have incurred while you were alive.

The term life insurance quotes that you find today will depend on your age, health, and the amount of coverage you want.

There are some things to consider with term life insurance quotes. For example, if you are older than 65 years old and have a history of heart disease or cancer there is less chance that you will be approved for coverage.

Some people use term life insurance as a way to cover their mortgage payments if they die before their mortgage is paid off. Others use it as a way to cover funeral expenses or college tuition for their children or grandchildren.

In today’s day and age, being prepared for anything can make all the difference. So even though our girls are adults and even one is married we still want to be able to provide for them when the time comes. So tell me what types of policies have you looked into for your family? I am always open for suggestions.
