Tips for Making Your Binge-Watching Experience Better

Tips for Making Your Binge-Watching Experience Better from North Carolina Lifestyle Blogger Adventures of Frugal Mom

In case you haven’t heard, we’re living in some weird times, y’all. While everybody’s health and safety is the top priority, we have an opportunity for something huge. We can officially binge-watch our favorite show with no shame—I know I have been. If y’all want to take your binge-watching time to the next level, check out these tips for making your binge-watching experience better.

Gather your favorite snacks, it’s party time

You read that right; nothing makes a binge-marathon more enjoyable than snacks. Whatever y’all are into, whether it is chips, ice cream, or popcorn, now’s the time to pull them out. Or maybe you’re more of the healthy type, and you enjoy your celery and almonds. To you I say, I’m sorry for your loss. Regardless, get those snacks together!

Maybe have a watch party—remotely, of course

I don’t know about you, but I’m definitely behind on shows and movies, and maybe some of your friends and family are too. Something really fun is having a watch party. Of course, with what’s going on with the coronavirus pandemic, we can’t gather close together physically, but we can do it remotely. Set up your FaceTime, Skype, Zoom, or Google Hangout, and watch your favorite show with the people you love most.

If you don’t have a go-to show, help the streaming service give you better recommendations

Chances are, y’all are probably using Netflix or Hulu to watch a lot of your shows and movies. Well, if you don’t have a particular show you’re addicted to, start watching anything that sounds interesting. The streaming service will give you recommendations based on what you’ve watched. Fancy, isn’t it? Just make sure when you really don’t like a show, you use the “thumbs down” or “dislike” option; that way, they’ll suggest fewer similar shows. In other words, help them help you!

Even if you don’t understand all of it, update your tech

Of course, times have changed with all this techy stuff, but it’s not all that complicated. To keep things simple, I’m going to give you one tip. If you notice your picture or audio quality is lacking on your computer or television, you might want to get a new HDMI or DVI cable. There are minor differences between HDMI and DVI cables, but y’all need the right one for the best experience.

Beyond this, you might even want to expand your tech beyond the regular channels. Maybe you’re an avid Netflix streamer, but fancy switching it up and trying out the shows on Hulu or Prime. One way to do this is to invest in something like a firestick, which allows you to access a score of different IPTV (television delivered through an internet connection) channels whenever you like, from the comfort of your own home. And if you already have a firestick and find yourself asking “how do I watch IPTV on my Firestick?“, don’t fear! Be sure to check out online guides which will give you comprehensive instructions and point you in the right direction!

If you’ve never binge-watched a series, then who are you? We all have a lot more time on our hands than we’re probably used to, so take this opportunity to watch something new. Watch something funny, inspiring, spooky, or whatever you’re into. Just keep in mind these tips for making your binge-watching experience better when you do start your next show.
