Building on your education and skills during lockdown? Don’t begin without these from North Carolina Lifestyle Blogger Adventures of Frugal Mom

It’s a strange time, isn’t it? With many of us working from home, homeschooling the kids, keeping away from friends and family, and wondering when things will go back to normal. It’s a time for appreciating what we have and caring for each other. But for some, it’s also a time for reflection and growth. So how do you keep building on your education and skills during lockdown?

Did you know that more people than ever are signing up for online courses, distance learning, and improving their writing and reading skills? From personal training theory and learning a new language to improving creative writing skills and even building a blog from scratch. There’s never been a better time to invest in yourself and learn something new.

So, what do you need to build on your education and skills during lockdown? Read on to find out more.

The Right Software

Of course, you might like to write study notes by hand, however, if you’re writing blog posts, essays,  creating a written piece, or even a dissertation then the right computer software is a must. You’ll need a word processor, a good spell checker as well as plagiarism checker software. Having the right tools to hand can really elevate your work and help you build on your writing skills. If your project has you concerned about your SEO rating then a plagiarism checker will ensure your piece is made of fresh, unique content.

A Distraction-Free Study Area

Studying from home is great, but it’s not without its challenges. If you have young children, pets, or even a partner who is at a loose end you may find it difficult to concentrate! Creating a distraction-free study area is a must. So, ensure you’re away from the TV and (if possible) away from the main thoroughfare of your home. When you’re settling down to study, make sure your family knows that you’re not to be disturbed for a while.

Plenty of support

It’s frustrating when you’re making headway in your project, yet now you have to go and do something else. Whether it’s walking the dog or bathing the kids, ask your partner to lend a hand and take on some of your responsibilities. Ask them to run through your study notes with you, or just make you plenty of cups of tea!

Organization

From study notes and paperwork, pens, and paper to files and folders on your laptop, don’t start to study or improve your skills without getting yourself organized! It’ll make everything so much easier.
