Made in America Products

July 4th is a day to celebrate all that we hold dear in the United States. Freedom to express ourselves in our speeches, public displays even in the clothes and jewelry we wear. My dad served in the Marine Corps so we can have these freedoms. But it seems like more and more our freedoms are being taken away, for example taking Dukes of Hazzard off of television because of a confederate flag which is part of our history. That is why I feel that it is important to support the communities in which we live and buy things that were made right here in the Good Ole’ United States of America.

According to ABC’s World News Tonight, there is a significant impact made when buying locally American Made Goods, both socially and economically. Why do you ask? Because goods made in third world countries are normally of poor quality and made in horrible working environments. Low wages and oppressive working environments are problems to name just a few. Because of this the movement to buy American made products has regained momentum.

Now I know you are probably wondering how can you tell if something is made in America. By simply looking at the tag and make a conscious effort to look before you buy.

Also by supporting small businesses in your community as well, you are buying American made. One of the small businesses that I have found online is a company called VisibleInterest.com. It is a businesses like these that feature made in America products that help the American economy. All of the jewelry in their Made In America Category are designed and made by American Craftsmen and artists. It is that easy  and when you shop you help to boost our economy here at home.

So tell me do you make a conscious effort to buy Made In America products?
