Puppy Potty Training Made Easy

Disclosure: My mommy received a potty training system for me to try in exchange for this review. All opinion are 100% hers.

Hey folks,
Allie here again. I know that Christmas is just around the corner and one of the main items on most kids’ Christmas list for Santa is a puppy. Now don’t get me wrong puppies are amazing and a whole lot better than cats but they are a lot of work. Before thinking about buying a puppy make sure you have the right supplies – a puppy bed, toys, food and water dishes, food, treats, and of course a potty training system in place. Do you know training a puppy can be a lot of hard work? I know when I was a puppy I pooped and peed inside the house constantly- don’t judge- we don’t have indoor toilets like you do.

But we do have is this awesome puppy potty training system that will reward us for pottying on the potty pads. Plus to be honest even though I am not a puppy anymore I still have accidents in the house because my human sisters forget to take me out. But sometimes I potty on the pee pad on purpose just so I can get a treat. My treats are totally yummy.

The whole concept behind the PetSafe’sTrain ‘n Praise™ Potty Training System is awesome. Just look at what it does. A replaceable moisture detector pee pad is remotely connected to a treat dispense. The pad, can absorb up to three cups of liquid. It is odor proof and leak proof. When a puppy pees on the pad, a signal is transmitted to the treat dispenser and treats or kibble are released, rewarding your dog for using the pee pad correctly and reinforcing the good behavior. A handheld remote is also included to aid with initial training or for an occasional treat at the owner’s discretion. Isn’t this an awesome concept?

So if you are thinking about a puppy for Christmas make sure you put some thought into how you are going to potty train them. This system might just be what puppies want and need.

Happy Training,

Allie

  1. My dog is almost 3 and I wonder if he is too old for this. He was a rescue and still had occasional accidents inside the house.

  2. Robin, Allie is 3 and she uses it. Once she figured out she would get a treat if she peed on the pad she was all over it.

  3. Wow. This is actually a really great concept! We are way past the puppy years in our home, but I like that even the senior canine family members can get a little treat for themselves when they have an uncontrollable accident.

  4. I know absolutely nothing about teaching a dog to pee in the right places, but does this help them to know they have to wait until they go outside? I guess I’m wondering how this would fit into the routine to get them to learn that they can’t pee in the house. Again, don’t mind me. I’ve never owned a dog before so I’m just curious 🙂

  5. This is my main concern about getting a puppy. Maybe it doesn’t have to be so hard after all!

  6. Wow, that’s fascinating. One of the reasons I wouldn’t want to get a puppy again is because of the housebreaking, but this may be a game-changer.

  7. It took me a while to get my puppy to use the bathroom but I finally got him to do it. This might have made my life so much easier.

  8. I have a puppy, he is trained for the most part. However, this looks like it would have been a big help when we first adopted him.
