Must Haves For Moving

must haves for moving

This weekend we will be driving up to Greensboro, where my oldest goes to college, to move her into her second apartment. You see she has been living in an apartment that she found last year that is about 20 minutes away from the college. And let me tell you that commute got to her real quick. Luckily this new apartment lessens her commute by a lot. But moving into a new apartment with the new semester already underway can be really stressful.

So being a mom I tried to help her out, so I came up with this handy-dandy list of must haves for moving.

  • Boxes, Boxes, and More Boxes– It is never to early to get a jump on packing. Although she has very little that she doesn’t use on an everyday basis. Packing the day of the move can be stressful, especially when she has two cats, Myelin, and Helix that love to play in boxes.
  • If you need to rent a moving truck, call and reserve one for the day you will be needing. Don’t wait until the last-minute as the store may be closed the day you need to get it or they might not have the kind you need available for rental. This will ease some of the last-minute runnings around. Although Maddie doesn’t have a lot of big items, there are several things that she will need to have a truck to move so this is a must have.
  • Line up times to have all the utilities turned on. The Internet is a must have for her as she is a college student and a lot of the time her professors require her to submit her assignments via email. So having that hooked up before the move-in date or the day of the move is a must have.

Luckily I found this handy site called Allconnect. That not only helped her save some money but allowed her to get things scheduled during the time frame of her move.  And look at what I found for her as far the internet, as a struggling college student who is not only taking a full load of her primary college, but also taking a CNA class at the community college while holding down a part-time job at the daycare facility on campus, she doesn’t have the time to run around and compare services.

moving must havesSo this site was awesome as she could compare the different internet providers and the services they offer all in one place. It was easy peasy to use and she can’t thank me enough for all the time I saved her.

So tell me what are some of your moving must haves?

That’s awesome that Allconnect was able to help you help her out by getting her the best deal on what she needed so she didn’t have to worry about running around and comparing prices on her own. 4. I also recommend going through stuff before packing, and getting rid of anything that haven’t been used or worn in awhile. I do this every time that I move so that I am not moving useless stuff around. Great tips, thanks for sharing!
