As a mom, I have always tried to teach my daughters the simplest gesture can sometimes be the only thing needed to make someone’s day better. You see my dad’s mom was legally blind and had to depend on others for help but that did not deter her one bit. She loved all the attention and she loved to talk. She would tell that secret in a flat minute because she loved her daily visits and having something to share gave her such joy in her life. She looked forward to those visits not only because of the companionship but also because her workers would always bring her something whether it was a visit with a pet or a small trinket my grandmother loved the attention.
It was those simple gestures that meant so much to her, that made her last years so special.
