#Cesar Meaty Selects for your fur baby

Allie is a part of our family. She came into our lives a year ago and things have not been the same since. She is the little sister that Gracie never had. She is a constant companion for her. Having 2 sisters that are teenagers, Gracie feels left behind and left out sometimes with her sisters but Allie makes up for that. Just the other day my husband and I were discussing Allie and I told him that was the smartest thing we have ever done. He agreed which totally shocked me because he was dead set against having an inside dog. But Allie has given Gracie a friend and helped to relieve some of the anxiety that she has felt in years past. She suffers from IBS (irritable bowl syndrome) and last year was a really bad year as far as stress was concerned having Allie around to cuddle with after an extremely stressful day help her so much. When I was sick a few weeks Allie never left my side, I called her my sick buddy. So with that said Allie has become our baby.

Because she means so much to us, we chose to take time and research what kind of foods we give to her at dinnertime. Because she is a member of our family we want to give her the best dog food. We recently tried the new Cesar Meaty selects for her. I loved that they came in a resealable 10-ounce can and in a variety of flavors. Why do I love that the can is resealable, first because Allie is a little dog so we only give her about a quarter of the can when we feed her, so this can will last her several meal times. I also love that Meaty Selects can be served along or mixed in dry food.

Please remember that when you try a new food out with your dog, to introduce it gradually so it won’t upset their stomach. Shih Tzus like Allie have a tendency to have sensitive stomachs so this will allow their stomachs to get used to food. I think this is an awesome food for small dogs. Here are a few tips to introduce new food to your dog.

  • For the first two days the food mixture should be 75% old and 25% new food. Mix them together.
  • If after the first couple of days things are great, you then mix 50% old with 50% new on days 3 and 4.
  • On days 5 and 6, the meals should be 75% new and 25% old.
  • And finally on the 7th day 100% of the new food.

So as an owner of a small dog, I understand how important it is to provide my Allie with the best dog food for her particular size and build.
