How To Sell A Car
Yesterday I let you know how not to sell a car, today I am going to tell you about the dealership that got it right. And in getting it right they also got a sale.
- When the customer drives onto the lot, you greet them and ask how you can help them? Not being pushy and trying to show them a car they aren’t interested in.
- Answer your customers questions and when a customer tells you what they are looking for you listen. And offer to show them a car you just traded for.
- Offer to let them see the car taking a look inside and let them test drive it.
- As you are talking to the customers about the car tell them that you will fix the things that are needed like tires. And actually do it.
- Answer your customer’s question and when it comes to sitting down and talking about the financing. Don’t just take the first acceptance from one finance company actually look around to find your customers the best rate with the payments at what they want to pay.
This sounds like a dream car salesman but actually it was a real life person. I know you are probably saying that oh this is a one time thing. But actually this was the second time we bought a car from Justin at Deacon Jones Clearance Center and it won’t be the last. We have learned that sometimes it is better to stay close to home than to drive an hour away to find a car. Oh I know you are probably saying that the car dealership closest to our home was a smaller one but it is the exact opposite. We have bought four cars from the Deacon Jones chain. Our first car a Chevy blazer in 1995, our Saturn Vue in 2010, our Chrysler Pacifica in 2011 and now the Acadia. And of those four cars- three were bought from this exact lot. Because this salesman was so patient and attentive we are now the proud owners of our Acadia. Yes the one in the above picture is ours.
