This post was first published on October 19, 2012. But since the fall season is once again upon us I thought I would repost.
Have I mentioned how much I love fall?? The three things I love about fall are the leaves changing, the fall flowers, and pumpkins. I love pumpkins. We never carve ours. But I am always looking for ways to incorporate pumpkins in our fall decor. But buying pumpkins every year can be very costly, so imagine how happy I was when I found some more fall pumpkins made from styrofoam at the dollar store. There will be several posts about what you can do with these pumpkins. I have already posted one way in my Pumpkins with A Twist story but here is another way. House numbers that will make your house stand out.
You will need pumpkins, a dowel, a pot, ribbon, spray paint, and numbers. First paint your pumpkins. I chose purple and black because those were the colors that I had leftover. Then run a dowel through the center of the pumpkins so that they sit on top of each other. Place them in the pot filled with sand. Add a ribbon around the bottom of the pot. Then place the numbers on the pumpkins and for less than $5.00 I have a cool potted pumpkins with my house number on it sitting by my front door greeting my guests.
