Great Wolf Lodge- Family Friendly Resort

Great Wolf Lodge Charlotte

Have you ever went to a hotel and felt so at home that you don’t want to leave and are sad to go? Well that is how I felt when we recently stayed at the Great Wolf Lodge in Charlotte/ Concord. From the time we checked in to check out time we were treated with the utmost respect and like we were the only guests staying there.

This was the first time that my husband and I had stayed at the Great Wolf Lodge, normally my girls go with my parents every year alternating between the one in Charlotte and the one in Williamsburg, Virginia. But this year since my dad hasn’t been feeling up to it the girls knew that they wouldn’t be going on vacation with them. So they gave up their idea of the Great Wolf Lodge. Imagine their surprise when I told them that the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority had arranged for us to stay at the Great Wolf Lodge in Charlotte. They were so excited. They couldn’t wait to get there.

Great Wolf Lodge sits up  a hill off Interstate 85 in Charlotte. We arrived after a long rainy drive just in time for check in. The girl that worked at the front desk was so friendly. We had a conversation about blogging  and I gave her my card. She offered wolf ears to us, which we gladly accepted. We were very lucky that our room was ready so we were able to unload and relax before we went out to dinner.

We stayed in one of their Kids Kamp Suites. The girls fought over who got to sleep in the cabin. No matter how old you are there is still something about the cabin that makes you feel young again. I will have to admit that I wanted to sleep in there as well. Just look at the cute bears that keep watch over you.

I loved how spacious the suite was. We were on the ground floor so it made packing and unpacking the car easier as we could just walk right out the sliding glass door. I loved how it was a quiet place to work, play and rest. Unlike other hotels we have stayed in this one had a “curfew” that after 11 pm you had to be quiet. So no loud music, no shouting, no car door slamming, or anything else inside or outside of the hotel. I think that is what led to the best couple of nights sleep I had. I hated to leave because,  I slept better there than I do at home. And I don’t normally say that about hotels but this is definitely one that I would love go back and visit.

Included with every stay is entrance into the waterpark. But there are tons of extra things to do at the Lodge as well. We had so many activities that were planned for us that we really did not take advantage of all the Lodge had to offer. But we did take advantage of the waterpark as well as MagiQuest. Look for those adventures coming soon.

Here is a little more about the Great Wolf Lodge in Charlotte/ Concord.  It is located like I said off of Interstate 85 near the Concord Mills Mall and Charlotte Motorspeedway. It is a very family friendly, family oriented resort that even the old can be kids again. Checkout the website for deals on rooms.

Tomorrow we are going on a quest into the world of Magic. Hope you stay tuned for more.

Disclosure: My family and I were hosted by the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority who paid for our two night hotel stay at the Great Wolf Lodge. All opinions expressed are 100% mine.
