Giving Back Pet Adoption

This post was made in partnership with I and Love and You.

Hey Folks,

Allie again. I am so excited to bring you this post about pet adoption. Did you know that all but one of the furbabies were adopted into our family? The only one who wasn’t adopted was Tutu. She, however, has a direct line to adoption as her momma Winnie was the first adopted furbaby in our family.

I know I have written before about my big sister Winnie but let me tell you her story. When my daddy was working at a hunt club where she was found. My daddy told us stories about how she was skin and bones and that it took her weeks before she finally let him pet her. He would always bring an extra sandwich or two with him to work and feed her. He could tell that not only was she abandoned but that she had been abused as while. It just makes my heart sick to see animals that have been mistreated. ( I mean I can’t enough watch the commercials about abused animals on television.)

My mommy had been after my daddy for years to get a dog for my sisters. Because he fell in love with this broken dog, he told my mommy that if we get a dog we would be getting this dog? From the moment they drove up in the truck and Winnie came running up she became a member of our family. She shared so many years of love with her girls and ultimately paved the way for all other furbabies to come into the family and for me to write this post.

So this year if you are considering a puppy or kitty for your kids at Christmas, then look no further than the pound. Most of the animals have been subjected to the worst things that you can face but if given time they will give you unconditional love. Like Winnie did for our family. I don’t think that my dad ever cried but the day that Winnie passed my daddy was bawling like a baby.

But anyone that adopts whether it is a fur baby or a real baby, know that you have to be prepared. That is where I and Love and You come in. They recently launched a puppy starter kit.

The “I and love and you” Puppy Food Starter Kit was created in order to support pet parents getting acquainted with their new puppies and to help make the transition easier. The newly launched Puppy Food Starter Kit includes the new “I and love and you” Naked Essentials Puppy Recipe kibble, new Super Smarty Hearties dog treats, Cluckin Good Stew wet food, pet product coupons (on brands like Coastal Collar, DogTV, Outward Hound, and Molly Mutt), and a guidebook for everything a new puppy owner needs to know. All “I and love and you” products are made with real meat and contain no grains, fillers, or anything artificial, and are approved by a holistic veterinArian for uncompromising quality.

And also with the help of Chewy, leading online retailer of pet food and products, “I and love and you” partnered with Manhattan-based Animal Haven Shelter to host an adoption drive. Just as with a baby shower, each ‘Pup of Honor’ adoptee was showered with gifts to get them settled in their new homes. Each basket contained a Casper dog bed, Vet’s Best health products, a dog crate, house training products, and a supply of ILY puppy products including a Puppy Food Starter Kit, along with additional puppy essentials from Frisco and Planet Dog.

I mean how awesome is that and it is my favorite food because it is shaped like a heart.
