Get your home office in order

Being a blogger with tons of assignments and products to be reviewed, I have tried several different methods to keep me and my home office organized. Being organized is not my thing. I have lost so many things because either I forget where I put it or my husband decides to play a joke on me but it backfires. Case in point, the other day I had $60.00 in my pockets. I took the money out of my pocket and put it on the counter. My hubby came along and thought man she does not know how to keep track of her money (I knew I had put it on the counter) so he decided to hide it from me. The next day, I go looking for it and can’t find it, but guess what neither can my husband- he forgot where he put it. So see by trying to play a joke on me, he got a joke played on him. We did eventually find the money two days later but not before a lot of stress. So you don’t end up like me here are some tips to make sure your home office is a little more organized.

  • Go through your mail as soon as you get it. Toss anything that is considered junk and put others in special place. Filing those bills that need to be paid in one place, the products that need to be reviewed in another, and other items in another.
  • Look through your magazine as soon as you get them and tear out those articles that you think you will want to read.
  • Keep your desk clutter free. A clutter free desk is a clutter free mind. I found that I am able to focus more on my writing when the environment around me is neat. It does not have to be sterile environment but I have found that I am able to focus on my work when there are no other things in my sight to take away from focus.

Being organized does take a lot of time at the beginning but in the end it is well worth it.
