AFM Finance Fun and Games Apps

My girls love anything that is fun and if they learn something in the process than that is all the better. I love it when I find things that allow them to have fun but on the other hand that are educational as well. I love being sneaky when it comes to their education. There are some really cool educational apps out there that will help your kids learn. These apps that I am mentioning today have to do with finances. Making counting, spending, saving and investing fun for kids. Here are four apps that I have found that fit the bill ( I know there are more out there so if you have one you know of, please share in the comments below the app)

  • Dinorama – This one is really cool especially if your child loves amusement parks. In this dinosaur theme park app kids will learn about spending money on new features for the park as well as expanding their staff as well. This app cost $2.00 and it is for the iPod.
  • Freefall Money- Children will earn tropical fish by correctly counting coins and dropping them into the giant piggy bank. This app also cost $2.00.
  • Savings Spree- This one would be great if your child loves to watch game shows. It is in a game show format with six course that include earnings, saving, spending and more. This app is a little more expensive at $6.oo. So you will have to judge for yourself if this is something your child would like.
  • Peter Pig’s Money Counter is an app from Visa that helps even the youngest child learn to add coins. It also gives children interesting trivia about United States Currency as well. This one is free.

It is never to early to start teaching your children how to manage their money. Money management is a skill that children will need throughout their lives. So why not start early?
