SRL {Kids Edition} Fabulous Me Is A Great Kid’s Read

In Fabulous Me by Ally Nathaniel, children learn the awesome lesson that it is okay to be who you are. Because who you are is just fabulous. I will have to say that not only is this book beautifully written it is also beautifully illustrated as well. As a teacher and a mom I saw the multiple uses for this book. First, because I am a mom first, I thought this would be an awesome way to help build the self-esteem in my daughters. I just wish that when Mikaela was smaller this book was around. Out of all my girls, she is the one who struggled most with what people thought about her. And to this day she still does. I was like that to for awhile but at some point I had to stop caring so much what others thought. I will have to admit that there are still times that I struggle with this issue, so I hate to tell her you don’t grow out of it, you just learn to deal with it better.
The little girl Emma in the book is such a sweetie. She talks about what she loves to do. The book first starts out as Emma is waking up and she embraces the new day with gusto. She is rejoicing that she has another day that she gets to do all the things she loves to do and gets to do these things with all people she loves. This book would be such a great writing prompt for younger kids, after reading this story you could ask kids what makes them special and why does that make them special??
There are so many possibilities with this book. I will have to say that not only is this book cute it is also frugal.
