Exciting Ways to Personalize Your Kids’ Bathroom

Exciting Ways to Personalize Your Kids’ Bathroom from North Carolina Lifestyle Blogger Adventures of Frugal Mom

There are many fun ways you can make your children’s spaces within your home to feel personalized to them. Personally, I like to do little updates to keep in line with my kids’ ever-changing interests all the time. It makes my kiddos feel like they have control over their own space while still keeping my house looking nice. Y’all, I swear, when they like their rooms and feel like they had a choice in decorating them, they take better care of their rooms! You can always personalize more than just their bedroom; check out these exciting ways to personalize your kids’ bathroom.

Monogram everything

Nothing is more exciting to a child—especially a child with an unusual name or unusual spelling of a name—than finding their initials or first name on things. It’s a relatively easy thing to DIY if you have some sewing skills. Or, if you’re like me and can’t sew in a straight line to save your life, some craft stores carry iron-on letters! Add these to bath towels, hand towels, and even your kids’ bathrobes. This small detail can make your children feel special and take a bit of ownership of their bathroom. Hopefully, this will lead to a cleaner bathroom or, at the very least, less of a fight when it’s time to brush their teeth.

Add a fun mural

The beautiful thing about a kids’ bathroom is that it’s most likely just the kids who use it. This means you can really make it fun. Take my advice and don’t make your bathroom too specific to your kids’ current obsession—I’ve learned my lesson that those interests are fleeting. Instead, opt for something fun and evergreen to make into a mural, whether painted or tiled in. You can make a tile mural using fish scale tile and put in mermaid tile mosaics to give your kids bathroom an under-the-sea feel. You can even go in the farm animal direction and have a mural painted of cows, chickens, and piglets.

Bonus Tip: To make the mural even more personal, have each kid pick out their favorite mermaid or farm animal and stencil their name next to it.

Give each kid their space

Although it might be unrealistic to give each of your children their own bathroom or even their own sink, providing them with a little space to call their own in the bathroom is key to making the space more personalized. Consider investing in small buckets that are stackable and fit well underneath the sink. Use a day off to help each child decorate their bucket, making it into a fun arts and craft day. Then, have each kid fill the bucket with their toiletries. This provides separate space for each child and will (hopefully) cut down on sibling strain.
