If someone had told me when my oldest daughter was born 22 years ago that I would be looking at an empty nest years later, I would have told you that you were crazy. But that is exactly what I will be facing in a few years. Gracie, the youngest, is currently a sophomore in high school. Mikaela, the middle one is about to finish her first year of interior architect school. And Maddie, my oldest, will be moving to California to pursue a Ph. D. in Environmental Toxicology (Insert big ugly mom tears here.) Although I am extremely proud of my girls I can’t help but miss them because they are a big part of who I am.

Society today seems to forget the empty nesters. That is why I am so glad that there is one company that is doing something about that. Proctor and Gamble, a name that is loved and trusted in my family for decades has created through their P & G Everyday program a new website called Empty Nest, Full Life. This site is solely for empty nesters (which I am soon to be) to join to gain access to exclusive P&G Coupons, recipes, and tips for home and health. They are all about the mindset of “Living Your Best Life Now.”

It is so weird that I was offered a chance to take part in this campaign as I was just having a conversation with one of my friends about what comes next. It seems that we have been so busy with the mom life that we sometimes forget that we need adventures as well. It is a hard thing to realize and comes with a lot of tears shed (believe me you aren’t the only one, I have big ugly cries from time to time.) But what gets me through in the realization that life is not over, it is just a change in life as I know it.

What makes this transition easier are products that I have used as a child. One such product is Vicks® VapoRub™ Topical Cough Suppressant. I remember when I was little and had a bad cough, my mom would slather Vicks on my chest and as well as on my neck. Then she would wrap a handkerchief around my neck to keep the Vicks in. Additionally, my husband is a native of Mexico and they use Vicks for every ailment possible. Not sure what I mean, if you have ever seen the movie, My Big Fat Greek Wedding and the father using Windex for everything, then you will know exactly what I mean.

Not only that Vicks is brand that reminds me of my dad, who I miss very much. From time to time I will be posting about other amazing products and how they help me to live the fullest life possible while remembering the past.
